LAST CHRISTMAS I GAVE YOU MY ART

Last Christmas, my family (Davis side) did an art exchange for our gift exchange. Rules are, you can make just about anything. It doesn't have to be art. And since I got my sister, and she got a painting last year, I thought I'd give her something a little more functional, just to mix things up. I found this chest at JoAnns as a plain wooden box, and brought it home to begin adding some serious pattern on it. The colors go with her home decor (I snuck pictures of her house one time to reference). I designed the pattern in Illustrator, printed it, transfered it with carbon paper, painted it and varnished it. It's pretty high gloss. And assuming the strong varnish smell has worn off by now, the inside should smell like pine or something. I left the wood exposed so it would.
